PITBULL AWARDED $2.85 MILLION and DOMAIN NAME WWW.WHATSTEA.COM BY FEDERAL COURT JUDGEMENT

It's a good day for content producers because Mega Production Company Pitbull Productions, Inc., just won a $ 2.85 Million Dollar Judgement which included the seizure and takeover of www.whatstea.com.After more than 2 years of litigation Pitbull prevailed against the highly popular online magazine web site www.whatstea.com and the law did what it is in place to do, protect copyrights and trademarks against the continued abusive illegal online proliferation of intellectual property, DVDs, images, pictures, etc.

Pitbull Productions does not tolerate unauthorized/illegal distribution of protected materials and will continue to prosecute any and all such activity.
All whatstea.com defendants were found liable for willful trademark and copyright infringement and Pitbull Productions was awarded damages in excess of $2.85 Million Dollars and, most importantly, the Court ordered that the domain name www.whatstea.com be transferred to Pitbull Productions.Jalin Fuentes of Pitbull told JRL, “Online newsgroups, file sharing sites, blogs and magazine sites among others, cannot hide while they willfully allow others to illegally infringe on our hard work, copyrights and trademarks.
Webmasters, registrants and domain owners must take active measures to ensure that a company’s intellectual property is not being abused, illegally posted, shared and prostituted on the internet.” Fuentes continued, ”It is not enough for a site just to take down unauthorized material once notified, they must, once served notice, implement active measures, software, technology, monitoring, etc. to help ensure that chronic, continued infringement does not occur, or as the Court has ordered there are draconian monetary penalties not to mention your site will be taken away.”
