As gay porn studios have been busy going after illegal web sites that are stealing content, New York based gay porn web site DirtyBoyVideo.com, has kicked off a public service campaign producing a series of commercials aimed at raising public awareness of piracy and illegal gay porn tube sites.
This is something that the music industry embarked on several years ago when it first started targeting consumers who were illegally downloading their products from free web sites.
Dirty Boy Video owner Andy Fair stated that "It is time the gay adult entertainment industry made an effort to educate the consumer. Those who feel the real toll of piracy and free porn aren't the faceless production companies, but the most vulnerable members of the industry - the models themselves."

With studios making it well known that they are going after these pirates legally, Dirty Boy Video is taking a different approach by attempting to reach directly to the consumer. Fair went on to say.
"It is the fans of gay adult entertainment who choose whether or not to support piracy".
With the amount of traffic and reputation that the DirtyBoyVideo.com web site has earned over the years, they are in a great position to promote this problem in our industry directly to the people who make our market work.
