Last year, serious changes occurred in the gay porn industry. Revenue is down, and studios are scrambling to determine consumer needs.Studios traditionally producing man on man sex, have changed their format to include fisting and pissing. Distributors that tap in to this market, cannot market these films to retail stores in the United States.
It is primarily sold on their individual web sites and on web sites that exclusively target the fisting and pissing community; which, serve a small niche in the gay porn industry.
Then, we have twin brothers starring in gay porn films together. Brothers having sex with other actors in gay xxx films, is not considered wrong. Thirty percent of the gay marketplace find it stimulating.

However, 70% of gay consumers find it objectionable when brothers participate in sex with each other. Gay consumers are labeled child molesters, deviants, and cultural destroyers.
It is bad enough, that conservatives portray gay men as having sex, with children, in dark back rooms. Now, gay men are being accused of promoting incest. This is not the message the gay adult film industry wants to portray.

One of the biggest gay porn studios in the business, received a huge backlash from gay consumers, when they promoted the twin brothers having sex with each other on film, and predicting it would revolutionize gay porn. As a result, of the backlash, they have not attempted to release the film in the United States.
Why would gay studios find it necessary to tap into this taboo genre, with a full anticipated severe backlash ahead? Studios should return to the basics.
We have heterosexual males performing gay sex acts for pay. Unfortunately, for these male heterosexual performers, gay consumers are not particularly fond of watching heterosexual males performing gay sex acts. No amount of money can make their cocks get hard, nor will it show them how to perform gay sex better than gay performers.

Gay consumers are attracted to the heterosexual, model gay for pay, for a hot minute. Once the action starts, they quickly lose interest. The Gay consumer’s urges should be taken to heart. The old days of, "I want a straight man", are long gone.
Those fantasies turned out to be nightmares. Heterosexuals have repeatedly stated, "stick to your own kind". It may sound harsh, but it is true. Heterosexuals do not watch gay porn to see if heterosexual performers are acting in them. Just as, gay consumers are not interested in watching gay performers act in heterosexual porn films.

The marketplace is changing. Everyone has a camera and a model who is willing to conduct fantasies, on camera, for pay. We need to closely observe, and ask ourselves, is this truly what the gay porn industry wants to promote and distribute?
It is important that the gay porn image, and the promotion of products, go hand in hand in regard to the gay audience. Gay porn censorship, is not condoned. However, common sense should be considered.
