APPLE iTUNES BAN ADULT ENTERTAINMENT DO TO CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS

Apple itunes has shifted gears in their content available for gay and heterosexual consumers as of Friday February 19, 2010.

The removals include applications from Grindhouse Mobile which was the developer behind the first ever "porn star app's" in the App Store.

The adult content applications, which were approved back in September 09' and did not show any nudity, are still showing up in their database as available available in Apple's App Store on the Grindhouse Web site.

But when consumers click on the direct link to that application, a message comes up by the Apple Store that reads "The applications are no longer available".

Grindhouse Mobile has confirmed to media outlets nationwide that Apple's removal of it's content.

Apple is staying silent on this move and when this reporter attempted to contact someone in their publicity division, they wouldn't discuss it in detail nor would they grant this reporter an interview on the matter.

We however did receive an email from representative at Apple which stated "Apple takes customer complaints very seriously and that will play a major role when Apple decides to remove an application from their programs.

"Whenever we receive customer complaints about objectionable content we review them," the Apple representative wrote to me in an e-mail.

"If we find these app's contain inappropriate material we remove them and request the developer make any necessary changes in order to be distributed by Apple."

So, is Apple now going in the business of censorship?

Will Apple continue to ban both heterosexual and Gay adult entertainment from their customers who want it?


These are the burning questions we have! What would happen if businesses decided that they didn't want their content on Apple do to the fact of their censorship policy?

I'm sorry to report that gay consumers will no longer be able to link directly to Athletic Model Guild's AMG Brasil label's XXX content because they too were purged from the system.
