Suspect Caught Robbing Adult Video Store Shot by Police

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police officers shot an armed suspect who was caught robbing a 24-hour Adult Video and Novelty store in southeast Houston early Wednesday May 2, 2012.
Two HPD units were driving along the 10000 block of the Gulf Freeway feeder road when they saw a suspicious character crouching down inside the Houston 420 store Adult Video store around 2:15 a.m. Police officers called for back and then proceeded to pull in to the dark area to investigate. They then quickly realized it was a robbery in progress.
When the first officer opened the door to the 420 Store, the suspect turned and pointed his shotgun at the officer. The Houston police officer then opened fire on the suspect. The suspect was shot an unknown number of times by officers and then transported to Ben Taub Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
As with any officer involved shooting, high ranking police officers as well as the Internal Affairs unit were called on to the scene. No one in the 420 store was injured. Watch the raw video provided by Houston’s KHOU’ Channel 11. – CLICK HERE.
