SPRINGFIELD, MO. – A thirty nine year-old man is behind bars in Greene County Jail after allegedly shooting and stabbing a clerk at the Paradise News and Arcade located at 3130 West Sunshine Street on Saturday May 28, 2011.
Prosecutors have charged Brian Lloyd Jacobs with assault, robbery and three counts of armed criminal action.
Deputies said Jacobs got into an altercation with a clerk, who was shot in the hip and stabbed four times at Paradise News and Arcade as he attempted to steal items from the adult bookstore. Police have not released the name of the victim in this case.
Jacobs is being held in the Greene County jail on $200,000 bond and will be formally arraigned when court resumes following the Memorial Day holiday. This is the second violent attack this year in an adult video store. Retailers are urged to take extra precautions to protect their employees as well as their customers.
